Cough is one of the most common symptoms of many respiratory diseases. And it is also one of the most frightening and avoidable symptoms of COVID-19, which has been raging around the world in recent years.
At the "15th World Congress of Natural Medicine" in 2021, we published a paper "Using BDORT to treat 327 patients with cough" on our experience in treating patients' cough. Although we were unable to attend due to the epidemic, we shared our treatment experience with the attendees through video, hoping to contribute to the prevention and control of COVID-19.
Cough (Tussis) is one of the most common symptoms in many respiratory diseases. It is also one of the most dreaded symptoms of COVID-19, which has spread across the globe in recent years. The presence of a cough may indicate harmful microorganisms (such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc.) in the body. However, it can also be caused by a cold, eating fried or "heaty" foods, or excessive intake of fruits or dairy products that can thicken phlegm. Since it's difficult for us to suppress coughs forcibly, coughing in public places often leads to embarrassment and disapproval from others. Therefore, it’s essential to address the underlying cause of this coughing symptom as quickly as possible. However, treating a cough may not be as straightforward as one might think. In Western medicine, doctors often prescribe antitussives, expectorants, and mucolytics, but many patients see little improvement. There is an old saying in Traditional Chinese Medicine: “When a patient with a cough walks into the doctor’s office, the doctor frowns." This suggests that there is a lot of complexity and insight involved in understanding and treating coughs.
When not properly treated, a cough often only worsens. After seeing multiple doctors and trying various methods, patients become increasingly eager to find an effective cure, which leads them to explore natural medicine for answers. However, there are many different types of therapies within natural medicine, raising questions such as: Which methods are more effective? What is the correct dosage? Is the treatment progressing properly? These are questions both doctors and patients are eager to answer. The Bi-Digital O-Ring Test (BDORT) provides a quick and accurate way to determine the cause of the cough, identify the most suitable herbs, nutritional supplements, and essential oils, as well as their appropriate dosages, and track the progress of the treatment. This article reports on 327 cases of cough patients treated using BDORT, with 284 cases (86%) showing a cure, 43 cases (14%) showing significant improvement, and no cases showing no effect.
